SwipeSense Names Point-of-Care Executive Jeff Baker as Chief Commercial Officer

Evanston, ILApril 14, 2014.  SwipeSense, Inc., a privately-held health and safety technology company focused on reducing hospital-acquired infections, today announced the appointment of Jeff Baker to serve as Chief Commercial Officer.  Mr. Baker brings more than 20 years of sales and market implementation experience to the Company, and has a strong background in strategic planning and technology utilization in patient-focused settings.


“Jeff’s extensive point-of-care and business development expertise will be extremely valuable as SwipeSense initiates product commercialization opportunities in the years ahead,” said Mert Iseri, Chief Executive Officer of SwipeSense.  “Jeff will lead our efforts in building key industry partnerships to unlock the potential of our technologies in the marketplace.  By driving our commercialization strategies, he will significantly contribute to our goal of reducing hospital-acquired infections through improved hand hygiene.” 


Prior to joining SwipeSense, Mr. Baker has served a number of point-of-care companies in increasingly responsible positions for sales, sales management and market commercialization.  This included key assignments at i-STAT Corporation, the pioneer of point-of-care diagnostic testing which helped define that industry, as well as Epocal, Inc., also a point-of-care diagnostic testing company, and later, Mobisante, a point-of-care imaging/ultrasound company.  Mr. Baker also has experience with other innovative technology companies where he directed efforts to significantly change industry inefficiencies and improve workplace practices. 



SwipeSense combines point-of-care hand hygiene dispensers with a smart sensor network for real-time hand hygiene monitoring. SwipeSense’s goal is to improve hand hygiene behavior in health care settings in order to reduce industry costs and save the 100,000 lives lost every year due to Hospital-Acquired Infections (HAIs).
